Class Registration for the first semester of 2025

Please register for courses offered in the first semester of 2025 as follows

Period Registration Period : Monday, April 7, 2025 - Friday, April 18, 2025 (strict deadline)

Application for approval of Global Development Foundation Courses and Specialized Courses (only for MC students in the first two years)

Students may take up to 6 credits of common graduate school courses and courses from other graduate schools as foundation courses for global development and specialized courses if they are approved by the Graduate School of Global Development.

If you wish to apply for accreditation, you may do so using the “Application for Courses Taken at Other Graduate Schools, etc.” form.

There are other prerequisites for applying for accreditation. Please check the reverse side of the “Course Registration Form for Other Graduate Schools” carefully before applying.

 You cannot apply after you have earned credits. Please note that you must apply in advance.

Web registration is not available.

Please submit the “Course Registration Form for Other Graduate Schools” to your primary advisor (faculty advisor) as an email attachment during the registration period.

※If you do not submit the form, no credits will be granted. After the course registration form is submitted by the primary supervisor (academic advisor), the Educational Records and Programs Section will register the courses in the Academic Affairs Information System.

※If you wish to take intensive courses at other graduate schools or faculties, please follow the above procedures during the designated period after the schedule of intensive courses is determined.

Between April 7 (Mon.) and April 18 (Fri.), 2025, please inform the instructor of the class you wish to take and have him/her sign or seal the application form, or send an e-mail to the instructor and receive a response that you are permitted to take the course.

The email addresses of the faculty members in charge of the classes are listed in the “Contact” column when you search the syllabus after logging in to the Academic Affairs Information System.

※If you wish to enroll in an intensive course, please e-mail us to obtain permission to enroll.

※If you do not see your contact information listed, please contact the University-wide Education Implementation Section (kyom-j@grp.tohoku.ac.jp).

(5) Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Studies Designated Subjects

If you wish to take “designated courses” at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research and Education, please fill out the “Designated Course Registration Form” and submit it to the Educational Records and Programs Section. (Only for first-year students of the 2-year Master's Course (MC))

※Please check with the Educational Records and Programs Section of the graduate school that offers the course or the graduate school's website before enrolling in the course.

※At least 6 credits must be earned to be eligible to apply as a Master's Research Education Student. At least 4 of those credits must be from courses offered by departments other than the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies.
