The Review of Graduate School of International Cultural Studies
International Cultural Studies

On the Occasion of the Launch of the Online Edition of the Journal of International Cultural Studies
As the Tohoku University Society for International Cultural Studies, which has been active since 1994, will cease its activities this year, 2019, the journal, International Cultural Studies, will be published by the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies, Tohoku University. We would like to reassure all alumni and current students of the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies, especially those who have been submitting papers to the journal, that they can continue to do so. Starting in 2019, the Journal of Intercultural Studies will be re-launched in a new form, an online journal. We hope that the results of the research published in the journal will reach a wider readership. Despite the change in form, the basic mission of the Journal of Cross-Cultural Studies remains the same: to contribute to the promotion of intercultural studies, which is the mission of the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies, and to provide a forum for the publication of research results and academic exchange in intercultural studies for the faculty, students, and alumni of the Graduate School. We hope that the Journal of Cross-Cultural Studies will be full of innovative and intellectually stimulating articles, and that the research discussed in the journal will grow into something more significant through the exchange that takes place there, and evolve into a book publication or publication in an international academic journal that attracts a wider readership.
