The Jodo Shu Peace Association has provided the following information regarding the "Book Scholarship for Privately Financed Foreign Students."

Application period: September 1st (Tue.)  to  Oct 2nd (Fri.), 2026   (Postmark is valid by Oct 2nd )
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Must be a privately funded international student. Must not be a Japanese government scholarship student.
2. Must hold a “Student” status of residence.
3. Must be enrolled at a university, junior college, graduate school, or vocational school (excluding Japanese language schools).
4. Must be able to attend the book presentation ceremony at the venue and receive the requested book. (The Miyagi venue event will be held on Sunday, January 17.)
5. Essay submission: Theme: “Why I choose Japan to study abroad"  (in Japanese)
*Note: The website currently displays last year's theme. This year's theme is shown below. (The website is scheduled to be updated by the end of July.)
6. Attach a copy of your student ID when applying.
