Important Notice: Preventive Measures for Heat Stroke
Hot and humid days are continuing.
Heatstroke can happen when your body gets too hot and cannot cool down. It can occur both outdoors and indoors, even while you are resting. In serious cases, emergency medical treatment may be needed.
To prevent heatstroke, please follow the tips below.
Preventing Heatstroke
・Drink water regularly, even if you do not feel thirsty.
・Use an air conditioner or fan to keep indoor spaces cool.
・Wear a hat or use a parasol when outdoors, and take breaks in the shade.
・Wear lightweight, breathable clothing.
・If you feel unwell, avoid overexertion and rest in a cool place.
Common Symptoms
・Dizziness or lightheadedness
・Headache
・Nausea
・Fatigue
・Muscle cramps
・Excessive sweating
If You Suspect Heatstroke
・Move to a cool place.
・Loosen clothing and cool the body, especially the neck, underarms, and groin.
・Drink water, a sports drink, or an oral rehydration solution if possible.
If the person is unable to drink water or is unconscious, call an ambulance immediately.
