Information on "The German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo)"
Attention Japanese graduate students and postdocs interested in conducting research in Germany!
DWIH Tokyo will hold a two-part online seminar series linked with its SNS series, titled 'Path to Germany — Research Series.'
We will deliver practical and useful information in Japanese, such as research funding opportunities and personal accounts of research life in Germany.
1. Path to Germany — Research Funding Online Seminar
・Date and time: Thursday, May 28, 2026, 17:00 Japan Time (JST)
・This seminar, organized by DWIH Tokyo and co-hosted by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the Japan Office of the German Research Foundation (DFG), and the DAAD Tokyo Office, will introduce funding programs for research in Germany.
You will also receive practical information such as application procedures, eligibility requirements, and tips for preparing proposals that increase the chances of selection.

2. Experiences of conducting research in Germany — Let's ask senior researchers!
・Date and time: Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 17:00 Japan time
・Japanese researchers who are currently conducting research in Germany or who have recently returned to Japan will share their personal experiences of research life in Germany.
In a casual atmosphere, we will also answer questions from participants.

3. Path to Germany — SNS series (May 11–June 5, 2026)
We will also run an SNS series in conjunction with the above two seminars.
We will share information useful for conducting research in Germany, such as doctoral programs, research institutions, research funding, and experiences of studying and conducting research abroad.

4. European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) Tokyo (June 13) · Kyoto (June 14)
・As the finale of this series, please join us at the "European Higher Education Fair (EHEF)" held on Saturday, June 13 at Hosei University in Tokyo and Sunday, June 14 at Doshisha University in Kyoto! This is a valuable opportunity to speak directly with representatives from universities and institutions across Europe, including Germany.
You can gather information about programs and scholarships, and also ask individual questions on the spot.
