[Deadline Extension] (Held on Sep. 2) The 12th Sawayanagi Memorial DEI Award Ceremony and Award Lecture (Language: Japanese)

We are pleased to announce that the 12th Sawayanagi Memorial DEI Award Ceremony and Award Lecture will be held in a hybrid format.

Under the philosophy of "Open Door Policy" established by Masataro Sawayanagi, Tohoku University's first president, the university opened its doors to women at an imperial university ahead of the rest of the country in 1913 . The Sawayanagi Memorial DEI Award (until the 9th award, it was called the Masataro Sawayanagi Memorial Tohoku University Gender Equality Award) is named after this first president. This award aims to honor and support those who have made significant contributions to promoting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion*, including the advancement of gender equality in academia and society, regardless of whether they are affiliated with Tohoku University.
*Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: DEI

On the day of the event, two organizations receiving the Sawayanagi Memorial DEI Award and the Sawayanagi Memorial DEI Encouragement Award will give award lectures. We look forward to your participation.
