Project Description
Plastic consumption has been increasing across Asia, making the development of effective waste management and recycling systems an urgent priority. In Bangladesh, while informal small-scale waste collectors play an important role, inadequate treatment infrastructure has led to serious environmental pollution and flood damage caused by illegal dumping and open burning. This study analyzes the management practices and environmental impacts of waste collectors and manufacturers, while also taking into account public awareness. Based on these findings, it aims to propose a framework for sustainable waste management and provide guidelines for effective governance.
