Kahoku Shimpo Features the SDGs Outreach Program Organized by the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies and Higashimatsushima City

The SDGs Outreach Program, held at Akai Elementary School in Higashimatsushima City on June 23, is an experiential SDGs education program organized by the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies and Higashimatsushima City in collaboration with companies, universities, and partner organizations.

This year, in addition to the organizations that have continuously supported the program, newly participating companies and university faculty members also joined the initiative. Together, they conducted hands-on learning activities on topics including automobile recycling, the upcycling of plastic containers and packaging, resource circulation, bioplastics, decarbonization, and waste recycling.

Through these interactive experiences and by handling real materials, the elementary school students deepened their understanding of the relationship between everyday life, resource circulation, and the SDGs.
