Senior Assistant Professor Ryo Maie’s Co‑authored Paper Receives The 2025 Albert Valdman Award for outstanding publication
A co‑authored research article by Senior Assistant Professor Ryo Maie (Department of Theoretical Linguistics) titled “Testing the three-stage model of second language skill acquisition” (Studies in Second Language Acquisition, 47(2), 617–649) has been selected for The 2025 Albert Valdman Award for outstanding publication.
This prestigious honor is presented annually to the most outstanding paper published in Studies in Second Language Acquisition (SSLA).
SSLA is recognized as a Top 10% international journal in second language acquisition and applied linguistics, and it ranked No. 1 in “Language & Linguistics” on Google Scholar Metrics in 2024 and 2025.
The award is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished honors in the field of second language acquisition research, marking a significant achievement for our Graduate School.
