Bringing recyclable materials to recycling stations by consumers is essential for increasing recycling throughout society.
However, even today, a large amount of recyclable waste is either discarded as household garbage or entrusted to municipally operated recycling collection systems, which place a significant financial burden on local governments despite consumers’ good intentions.
In this demonstration project, a “Dynamic Recycling Point System” will be introduced to recycling stations for the first time in Japan.
AI will learn how recycling behavior changes according to factors such as seasons, weather conditions, and lifestyles, and will determine recycling points to maximize benefits for consumers, the environment, local governments, and businesses.
