The Tohoku University 21st Century COE in Humanities will host a lecture and tutorial on the cutting-edge research in linguistic, cognitive, and brain sciences. The lecture and tutorial will be jointly given by Dr. Ina Bornkessel of the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and Dr Matthias Schlesewsky of the University of Marburg, who are developing neurotypology, a new area of research that combines linguistic typological inquiries with brain sciences. The lecture and tutorial are expected to attract both junior and senior researchers from a range of specialities including cognitive linguistics, linguistic typology, neurolinguistics, and psycholinguistics.
