近代における「日本仏教」という構築物は歴史的にいかに成立し、社会にいかなるインパクトを与えたのかを研究して、単著や多くの編著を発表してきました。最近は、近代の聖徳太子像やオカルト史についても研究しております。ゼミについて知りたい方は、 ゼミサイトをご覧ください。詳細業績は、リサーチマップをアクセス下さい。
My research focuses on the historical construction and social impact of the idea of "Japanese Buddhism" in modern Japan. More recently, I have also been focusing on the formation of the modern image of Shōtoku Taishi (a.k.a. Prince Shōtoku, 574-622), and on the history of Occultism in modern and contemporary Japan.
