What is the Interdisciplinary Inter-laboratory Internship Program?

To realize an interdisciplinary research and educational setting for the training of young researchers, we have established the Interdisciplinary Inter-laboratory Internship Program (IIP).

Under IIP, first-year doctoral course students can select one to three laboratories from the 8 research units constituting the COE program, and receive one to three months of intensive training at the laboratories selected.

The goal of IIP is to provide students with an opportunity to receive intensive training/education in academic disciplines different from their own, including linguistics, psychology, medical science and engineering. What will be provided in the laboratories under IIP include: demonstrations using linguistic data, processing of psychological experimental data, medical-related experiment methods (e.g. fMRI), engineering-related computer simulation and other techniques.
