Homepage of Department of European Cultural Studies (Japanese)
Although European culture consists of diversified elements, it retains a uniformity based on classic Greco-Roman and Christian culture. European cultural studies, therefore, must be pursued from both a historical and comprehensive viewpoint, dealing with autonomous academic fields such as literature, philosophy, history and law. Based on this principle, the character of the Department of European Cultural Studies lies in this attempt to clarify the core realities of European culture comprehensively.
